The School of Visual Arts at Minnesota State University Moorhead is a dynamic artistic community of students, faculty, and staff. SVA offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in seven areas of studio emphasis: ceramics, photography, drawing, pictorial illustration, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. This diverse school also offers a BA with an emphasis in Art History and a BFA degree in Art Education.
A distinctive program of the School of Visual Arts is the post-baccalaureate Certificate in Studio Research. The Certificate in Studio Research is an intensive year of pre-professional portfolio preparation. Applicants must have achieved a BFA degree or its equivalent, meet GPA requirements, and present a body of work to a committee of SVA faculty. Students accepted into the Certificate program may pursue portfolio development in one area of concentration or may work in multi-disciplinary media.
